My latest piece at Servants of Grace is a devotional reading of 2 Peter 1:3-4. I’ve been hung up on the perplexing interconnectedness of this passage for a couple of years and I was glad to get to lay out clearly & methodically what I’d learned.
I think it is useful to think of grace as having liquid properties. It falls generously, like the rain; but like the rain, we don’t control it. We can allow it to flow through us or we can hoard it. I’ve used these ideas before in a piece called Staying Afloat but I found this water-grace connection useful again as I was trying to puzzle out the complex sentence of 2 Peter 1:3-4. I hope you’ll read & let me know what you appreciated about this new meditation at Servant of Grace.
